Humor and Hunting at the famous Christmas Place Plantation Hunting Club on the edge of the Mississippi Delta
Well put young Howell...you choked old TwoFeather up there for a second, but you write from the heart and I don't think I've ever read anything that expressed more reverence and truth than what you said. That's what happens when love and responsibility collide. I think it will always be like that for Chief Tallahatchie's tribe...
There I was, sittin' in my cubicle. When suddenly a huge buck walks into view, a 14 point at least. He was hesitant, as if he knew something wasn't right, but I was well camouflaged and silent as a mouse.
All of the sudden he walked right up to me and said, "I need a copy of those sales figures faxed to corporate when you get a chance."
Sadly, that snapped me out of the daydream, and 'there I was', back in the office.
Very good story. Nice to see stories like that still indeed exist. I'm assuming Michael is a son? Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWhere'd this come from? Sent in by a young fan? Or is this family?
Michael is my brother Pauls' 12 year old son.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful written and touching story by Michael. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteVery, very cool. Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful. I especially like the part where he says his family taught him to hunt and he'll pass those lessons down to his children.
