Hog Slayers
Spencer and Burney have been involved with an elaborate trap to get those damn hogs. You dig a post hole in the ground as deep as you can, fill it with corn, then pour a grape or soda drink over it and let it ferment. The hogs are supposed to go crazy for it. We will see. And the pistols?, I don't know what is up with that.

The Freezer Rebellion
Yes, I went to my little house and dug out the freezer that I had in there and donated it to the camp. Did I get any appreciation? NO. All I heard was "Ewww" it's dirty. Finally got Mark to help load it on the trailer. He said "Ewww, that damn thing will never work."
Got it to camp. "Eww, it's too dirty to help unload." Made a phone call and got Bob and Marian to come and help clean it up since no one else would help me. They joined right in and we got it clean, plugged in, and running like a top.
I promised my Vicksburg friends a hog hunt in the near future.
And all that "Eewwing"..... when the freezer is full of deer and wild hog, you can Ewww all the way home empty-handed.

A Playmate For Camo
Thank Goodness Spencer has arrived to spend some time up here with me. Camo needs someone to play with. Her teeth are getting a little dull and a nice human leg bone to chew on will cheer her up. She knows I don't mind the blood or screaming.
I will probably have to lock them both in my dark, dingy basement for a few days.
On the other hand she really needs a bath and since she killed the last three people that tried to give her a bath, I think this would be a perfect job for Spencer.
Will have an ambulance standing by in case he survives.

To-Do List
Now that hump day is over (4th of July) it is time to start a list of things that I need to finish up before deer season starts. Y'all can chip in anywhere and help.
1. inspect all stands for rotten boards.
2. replace all gun rails and repair camo in each stand.
3. shoot hogs
4. get Bob's booth for Carnival
5. put tripod stand at 10-point field
6. increase size of T-field with bulldozer
7. pet dog
8. take freezer to camp
9. cut firewood
10. shoot hogs
11. talk to Thunderhoof (this is his last year)
12. late August disk and plant fields
13. sight in rifles
14. go scouting for new spot to shoot Thunderhoof
15. pet dog
16. shoot hogs
That should be enough but will add to it as we go along.

We Have Apples
Our little apple tree in the yard is covered with apples just getting ripe. Some have fallen off and others are getting that tint of red that shows they are ready to pick. Here is Erin showing our first one. The only problem we have is with those hateful rabbits, vicious deer and those conniving masked bandit raccoons. They are about to drive Camo crazy. She is on guard 24/7 but those hateful things are stealing our apples right and left. She chases them but they are too sneaky. Hope we can salvage a few.

An Emanating Odor
Burney just called from camp and said that when he got there last night and opened the door a horrible smell rolled out to meet him. He went in to the laundry room and cracked open the freezer. Everything was melted and smelled horrible. A big pool of water and god knows what else was all over the floor. Looks like we have lost all our frozen deer and hog meat.
I think I have a freezer at my house we can use to replace it but that freezer was absoulutely full. Damn!

Bob Is Good To Go
Once again we will be live-blogging the Watermelon carnival this year and as a special treat, the famous blogger known as Two-Dogs Tall or Bob Phillips will be operating a booth for the event. As everyone in the South knows he is married to the world famous blogger Marian Phillips.
Bob will be selling his internationally acclaimed Copper Trees at the festival this year so check with him early and often to get one of these one-of-a-kind masterpieces of art. See you at the Carnival.

A Working Weekend
This weekend was a long hard working weekend for me but not for Dad. He went to camp with Trent and enjoyed himself. Trent managed to kill a hog too.
So it was hot and boring but I also got a booth set up for Bob and Marian for the Watermelon carnival.
I also got Erin off to Camp Hopewell up near Oxford for summer camp.
I sure hope they caught that ax murderer who was running around up there last year.

Golf With Bebo
Every fourth of July we have a family golf shootout. Bebo is the best golfer in the group and it is always fun to take his money whenever we get the chance. He managed to lose 2 out of 3 matches this time.
Hope we can get Dad back to playing soon and I've got to start practicing because I can assure you that Bebo wants his money back.

A Good Holiday
Paul, Wanda and their kids came up for the 4th. We playd golf Saturday and then came in for a big party that Denise put on. It was relaxed, fun and everyone had a great time. We had ribs, burgers and hotdogs along wih all the beer and cokes you could drink. No one left hungry.
Sunday we played golf again and then went to my aunt's house for another feast late that afternoon. We made the fireworks display at Ole Miss and then headed home.
I need a vacation from my holiday.

A Short Day At The Office
I am going to try and get out of here at lunch. My evil brother is coming this weekend. No the other evil brother.
We are having all of the family over for a cookout and there is a lot to be done. Like hide all the silver.
Should be a relaxed fun-filled weekend and hope y'all have a happy 4th of July.
