Saturday morning, the first thing we had to do was fix the wheel on the tractor. This ended up taking an hour, because of course, we had the wrong tools and bearings.
We got the tractor in the field about 9 AM.
We then got the grain buggy hooked to the other tractor and Dad and Paul took off to help Trent.
This left Bobby, Burney and me to start working on replacing gunrest in all the stands, recutting shooting lanes, repairing rotted stands and touching up the fields we had decided needed extra clover.
Here I am, putting clover on the little field where Burney killed a bruiser of a buck last year. Burney replaced the floor in the stand and put camo on it while I took the seeder and made sure the ground was covered in clover seed.

2 words, Ammonia Nitrate. Go back and top dress about 100lbs to the acre about three weeks before gun season after everything is up and business will pick up naturally. Yes I know that clover is in the legume family which produces its own nitrogen. Just making a suggestion that I have found to be highly effective.

Oh yeah, about the ammonia nitrate fertilzer. It works the same whether its wheat,rye or any of that high priced buck in a bag seed.

So did you fix up me a stand to hunt from or are you just going to put me in a guest stand where nothing comes by for a good laugh at camp? when I get there thunderhoof will be no more and the crops will flourish again and all will be good.
If you put some buddy bearing on the farm equipemnt you will have a lot less problems..makes it a hell of a lot easier to keep the bearings greased
yeah, and I agree with scratch about the nitrogen on the clover..I have done the same with alfalfa and cover hay fields..just makes a better crop
now if I could just get you two to come drive the damn tractor
