A Blazing Saturday

Between the ruined carpet from the broken water line and the 110 degree heat outside, we managed to get a lot of work done this weekend. We have about 30 fields and we managed to get every one of them bush-hogged before dark on Saturday. I was beat, but proud that at least this job was accomplished. I found a big shed antler over at the East Gate and there is sign of a monster buck on the Mountain, pay attention Art, Dana.

Thanks for the link. Glad to hear you got some work done, despite the blazing heat.

Hard work is good for the constitution, Rex.

You should be a healthy fella, from the amount of stuff ya'll are doing down there.

Don't let Rex fool you, from my experience, he's demonstrated a high level of skill at shade watching management skills.

I have subtly delegated bush hogging on my place to my 14 year old Grandson. He loves it!

The bushhoggin is the easy part..it is negotiating those roads into those fields that would the tough part for me

That sounds like a lot of work! Then again, I hate mowing the little half acre of bluegrass that we have. Please understand when I ask - I don't have a plot of land to manage - but why do you bush hog the fields?

Andy, each of our fields grows up about 5 feet high in grass and trees each summer. They have to be cut (and let the grass die) before planting each fall. It is a lot of work to maintain nice green fields for all the wildlife during the winter.
Maybe you will get a chance to come see for yourself.

Sounds like alot of hard work! We don't work in 110 degree heat up here, we wait until the balmy weather when it's down in the 60's. And yes, yes I'm paying attention to the sign of a monster buck......on our hunting land up here! Got a big 'un on the trail cam last night! I hyperventilated, but I'm OK now.

Rex,
I could use your help with the bush hogging, seems Jimmy probably won't be there on the tractor again this year (HAHA). Will be putting a new starter on our tractor this weekend and then off to bush hog myself.Have to get my favorite field ready ("L shape field) sometimes I think you can still hear Uncle Jim snoring there.
