The Running of the Bucks

Capistrano, MS> This weekend begins the annual running of the bucks through Thornton, MS. Each year at this time, the water levels fall, the farmers finish planting their crops, and the deer flock back to their roost in the delta flatlands.
People line the narrow street at Thornton and run with the deer as they funnel around Bee Lake and straight through the town. Most of their antlers have dropped by now so we usually don't have more than 10-12 people get killed each year. This year, the adventurer known as FHB, will be running with them. I really should invite KeesKennis over for an-inopportunistic moment.

I'm too fat to run, but I will walk.

Good, there is nothing like seeing a 250lb pissed off buck with giant antlers bearing down on a fat walking man.:)
